My cat keeps wanting to bolt out the door, at the last second before it closes. Why? And how can I stop this behavior?

The real question is "Why not?"

Look, whatever is on the other side of the door has to be more interesting than what's on the side of the door we're at. Kitties are curious, so we want to see what's there. There's only one way to stop that behavior.

Leave the door open.

Simple, really.

My cat has been indoor/outdoor since I've got her, but I've been trying to keep her indoors to prevent another pregnancy. She has had 2 litters already. The problem is, she bolts for the door whenever its open. If I try and stop her, she attacks me viciously. keeping her indoors when I can, she rips apart everything Curtains, bread on top of the fridge, garbage can, etc. What can I do? Has my cat gone partially ferral? she only comes in when she's hungry, thirsty, or tired if she has the choice, and she no longer likes to be pet, touched, or handled at all. She will sit in my lap once in a great while, but quickly leaves if I pet her. She also refuses to use the litterbox, but wont go on the floor. (she goes in the tub for some strange reason)
